Brownies Number 2

Oikh!!! Oikh!!!

Tonight I'm blogging about my number two brownies. This is a different recipe from the one I did before. Well, from the picture above you can tell I use the right baking tray this time. But the outcome I don't like so much. In this recipe instead of using butter and melted chocolate, it is substituted with vegetable oil and cocoa powder. Apart from that, one of the ingredient was peanut butter. It gives a strong taste that not everybody would like and the texture also is not the rage. It tastes like ordinary cake instead of brownies. Maybe I did some mistake with the recipes but all in all it is a good try. I would not try out this recipe next time though. Not really my favorite. If any of you have a good and sure kill brownies recipe please do share. I would love to try it. :):):)

p/s: I really wish Gary and Ji Hyo coupled. They are really cute together although sometimes a bit nauseating. :P. Galy and Mong Ji please be together!!!! :P

Brownies Numero Uno

Oikh!!! Oikh!!!

Mornin Everbody!!!! Well more like Good Afternoon. :P. Anyway, as promise in this post I am going to share you about my baking project. Since my holiday I have come to really enjoy baking. I don't know why but when I bake I feel so happy. Maybe it's because it keeps me occupy without making me think how bored I am. The end product doesn't hurt as well. One of the downside of this project is however, it kinda cause a hole in my pocket. But, I am the happiest when I bake. Especially when nothing gets in my way. If I really get very good at this, I am planning one day to open a bakery of my own. Well fingers crossed. One day....^_^(day dreaming).
Anyway, the picture above is the show proof that I actually baked it. It's brownies!!! I know it does not look like any ordinary brownies. But it tastes so chocolaty and moist that I don't care. What I did wrong was I should have spread it in a thin tray but instead I spread it in a high tray that people usually used for baking cakes not brownies. In this brownies also I add some chocolate chips that when it cooks it melts and in your mouth created this chocolate heaven once you eat it while it is hot. Owh the feeling. :P.. But once it cools down entirely, it hardens and I kinda like it not love it. Hahaha... Anyway I loved it. Today probably I am going to try other recipes so hopefully I have some spare time on my hands. Enjoy the view!!! :):):):):)

Can't Sleep...

Oikh!!! Oikh!!!

Somehow I can't sleep tonight yet I have no idea on what to blog tonight. So, like everybody else, I'll just rant. It's 2:40 pm as of this sentence. Something pops into my head tonight. While I was baking brownies (I'll post about it next time), my aunts were watching a drama in the kitchen "Tentang Dhia". It's a story about a women named Kamadhia something. She is a beautiful inside out village girl who was loved by many men and envied by many women. After a few mishaps, he finally married a wealthy man from the city. She was the dutiful wife who loves her husband. However, she was hated by her in-laws especially the mother in-law. Her husband's mother tried everything to separate them. Finally after months and even years of bad tricks and inciting, the husband finally believes that the wive is bad. So one day, the in-laws decided that they would ask the guy to marry to another woman because they want grandchildren and Dhia could not produce any grandchild. Her response...she asked her husband what does he wants. After a few moments of crying and discussing, finally in tears she agrees and told her husband, whatever it is I still love you deeply and I will agree to whatever makes you happy. You see, if the scene was put into perspective of today's world, the woman would probably rips the husband's eyes sockets first before agreeing. What I am trying to pinpoint is, in today's world, it is hard to find a woman who is just beautiful inside out you know very excellent behavior, high moral standard and beautiful physically as well. Everybody has their vices. I think this is one of the reasons I don't really like to watch drama. They sometimes exaggerate one good or bad thing too much. Yes I know it is fictional but maybe I am really an uptight person. Who knows. From my  point of view, I feel so inferior when I watch Dhia's characterization and it makes me wonder in this world does such person still exists? Another thing is, Dhia really loves her husband. It makes me wonder does that kind of love still exists in this world? Don't get me wrong, maybe such love does exists but in today's world, with so much pressure and expectations I hardly believe this kind of love exist. To make a relationship successful, they are some sacrifices to be made. But, nowadays everything helps ease the life we live in. May it be technology, our career which gives us the means to live(money) or our studies(that comes with expectations). What we choose to sacrifice for the sake of a successful relationship is I believe a hard battle. Sometimes you lose some you gain some. Nobody likes losing. Well except for weight maybe. :P. This may seem a gloomy view but it is just something that pops into my head when I can't sleep. So what do you think? Anybody out there?...hopefully you stumble on my blog...anybody???

Green As Far As The Eye Can See.

Oikh!!! Oikh!!!

I just came back from Kuching two days ago. It was a road trip. I am not going to write much though. Here, I just want to share with you the beauty of the colour green (not money...:P).

Jodi Picoult: Nineteen Minutes.

Oikh!!! Oikh!!!

Jodi Picoult: Nineteen Minutes.

It is cold tonight. A very nice environment for reading. But tonight I am having a little bit of junk food crash. After almost ten days steering clear of junk food, tonight my cravings gets the best of me. :P. Anyway tonight, I am not going to talk about my junk food fest a while ago. As always I want to talk about the book in the picture above. Titled Nineteen Minutes, the story revolves around the community in Sterling in the aftermath of a school shooting. Jodi Picoult focuses on the emotional struggles the characters face in the aftermath of the shootings.
So far on Jodi Picoult, I have only managed to read one and a half of her collections. The half that I have read before was Plain Truth. Honestly I didn't finish it. Why? Well the story focuses on a jewish family that was rock to the core when their teenage daughter was pregnant and refuse to tell who the father is. The plot is fine but what bores me is the way the plot was molded. The plot was expanding at a really slow rate. Contrary to Plain Truth, Nineteen Minutes is the story that changed my mind about Jodi Picoult's writings. This book is the spark that motivated to read as much book as possible during my semester break.
Led by a strong female character, Alex Cormier, a judge, this story analyses the complicated emotional struggles of five characters; Alex and Josie Cormier, Peter and Lacy Houghton as well as Patrick Ducharme after the shootings. This story also focuses on the barrier that exists between a teenager and adults or their parents. I was a teenager once and this story portrays sometimes adults forget what is like to be teenagers and they fail to understand what their teenage daughter and son are facing. Peter Houghton who seems to be destined to be bullied all his life one day decides that enough is enough and starts shooting everybody in nineteen minutes. However the shooting was not as clean cut as it seems. One of the bullet that hit the victim did not come from the shooter but from another source. From then on, the ball starts rolling. With one puzzle after another, you are left wondering what happen during that nineteen minutes of hell but at the same time felt sorry for Peter. Then, along the way you yourself would start to link all the facts yourself only to be shocked with a twist at the end.
Wow, one heck of a formal review up there. Anyway, I was just trying to give the book justice by portraying how good the book is. But words just can't describe how I felt after I completed my readings. If I were to make any justice to this book,I might as well write a research paper on it. Alas in my simple words, read the book for yourself. The way Picoult writes this story is enough to make you sit at the edge of your chair. It's gripping, interesting and when it's over it is memorable and it will leave a dent in your soul(too much?? :P).
With that said, I would like to nurse my junk food crash. Until next time folks. Adiosa Samosa!!!!!!

Mark Billingham: From the dead.

Oikh!!! Oikh!!!

MARK BILLINGHAM: FROM THE DEAD.

I bought this book like a week ago. Finished the book as you can see from the damages I have done to the book. Hehe... Well, to begin with, the story line is interesting. Imagine, somebody you hated sooo much that you send out an order for him; to kill him. You got convicted for it but 10 years on you found out he is still alive and kicking, living a better life than you are.
The main character is Thorne. He is a cop; the typical cop I'd say. Tough, job oriented all those stuff. For me, after reading the book, I find Thorne not that memorable for me. Sometimes when you read a book a character would stand out and you would remember them. In this particular book, his character was not developed enough and I only see one side of them only. Well to be fair, this book I think is a part of series which focuses in this character Thorne. Correct me if I am wrong. Anyway back to the book. Like I said the story line is interesting. It started slow then the momentum started to build up it's hard to let go. From the middle till the end it kept me intrigued with the twist and the facts the cops gathered about the case. One thing I would have like if the author did not killed off the character of Anna Carpenter. She is the direct opposite of Thorne and the relationship between the both of them can be a sort of conflict for Louise, Thorne and Anna. Apart from that, it can also serve as a point of annoyance with a reader like me because I am a sucker for couples to stay together without disturbance from a third party. :P. Anyway it was a good read. Hopefully in the future more of this authors book will be in my possession.

p/s:
1) I am not a professional book reviewer. I am just a reader like most of you out there.
2) I do not know this author. So I bore no ill-feelings towards him and his books...:P
3) THIS IS JUST FOR FUN!!!!

I guess that is all for now. I am starting to feel sleepy so until next time...adiosa samosa!!!!

A New Beginning.
